What a wonderful location for a nursery school! Our setting at Tylers Green provides us with not only a dedicated nursery facility but also access to school woodland and play areas. Children experience the best of all worlds, as they operate within their nursery group but with an eye on what comes next. Whether children will subsequently attend Tylers Green, this experience gives them the perfect opportunity to become comfortable with a bigger environment whilst cocooned in their own age-appropriate space.

There is an emphasis on child-centred learning, with experiences tailored to individual needs and stages of development. We offer maths, STEM and phonics programmes designed specifically for the age group.  Experiences are hands-on, practical and FUN!

Forest School is a well-established part of our curriculum, and, recognising that physical development underpins all other areas of learning and development, there is an emphasis on outdoor experiences as well as making the most of indoor space for movement, exercise and gross and fine motor skills. Emotional resilience is supported by daily reflective time and by our social skills programme, PALS (Playing and Learning to Socialise).

By focussing on the Characteristics of Effective Learning identified by the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, we send our children on to their further educational adventures at school very well-prepared for the challenges ahead.

Using an online system, eyLog (https://eylog.co.uk/), we record planned and ad hoc observations on tablets, with parents receiving notifications via an app when there is something to share. From these, we are able to plan for the next steps in each individual child’s learning.
